Gerard Butler enjoyed a chat with a fan as he watched Chelsea thrash West Ham 5-0 at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

The Scottish actor, 54, wore a light khaki green khaki jacket and layered a blue and a darker khaki green T-shirt underneath.

He grinned and stretched his arms wide in the stands with his back to the match, which eventually saw West Ham lose by five goals to nil.

Gerard was seen dancing to One Step Beyond before the game began and he had some words of encouragement for the team ahead of the match.

Speaking to the Chelsea faithful, Gerard said: 'Hey Chelsea fans, Gerry Butler here. You might not be Chelsea fans, but if not, maybe you should be Chelsea fans!

'Here at Stamford Bridge for the West Ham game, I'm super excited and it's going to get a lot busier than this. You can feel it already - it is a joy to be here! Take care.'

However, Gerard is a fan of Celtic FC, having supported the team since childhood and played charity matches on their behalf.

The actor has just one project lined up for the rest of the year, and it's American action film Den of Thieves 2: Pantera.

He lent his voice to American sci-fi adult animation Ark: The Animated Series which began airing in March.

The teetotaler will star alongside O'Shea Jackson Jr., the eldest son of American rapper Ice Cube.

Gerard produced and starred in two films in 2023:  American action thriller Plane and American spy action thriller Kandahar.

In 2025, Gerard will bring his long-standing voice role as Stoick The Vast to life in the first live-action adaptation of How To Train Your Dragon.

Gerard has been in a relationship with American actress Morgan Brown for over a decade. He has no children.
